March 2026 President's Update

Happy March 2026 RWWC!  March is best known for St. Patrick’s Day and Women’s History Month. This month, we honor the trailblazers who dared to lead, the visionaries who shaped policy, and the everyday women whose courage continues to inspire. As Republican women, we stand on the shoulders of women who were pioneers. They proved that leadership knows no gender, only strength, integrity, and vision. Let’s carry their legacy forward, not just by remembering their names, but by embodying their courage in our own work and communities. Some interesting facts include that for more than 150 years, women have been active in the politics of the Republican party. This includes the 3 women who attended the founding meeting of the party in Ripon, Wisconsin in 1854. Since this time, there have been many women who joined the GOP, as it is the party of true equality. Other facts include: 1870 Wyoming, Esther Hobart Morris was appointed the first woman justice of the peace in the United States. 1876 Washington D.C., Sara Andrews Spencer was the first woman to address a committee at the RNC. 1878 Susan B. Anthony asked Senator A.A. Sargent (R-CA) to introduce what would become the 19th Amendment to Congress.
